I like this shot, the only distraction is the stop block behind the front wheel. Taking the shot at a low angle is nice also, the only suggestion I would make is one of more personal taste to the photographer.. The background (and rear of the car) are all quite in focus, it isn't until far far away that the focus becomes more blurry. If you use a larger focal lenght (say F3.5 vs F5.6) you'll get more of a blur in the background giving your subject (in this case the car) more attention, showing it off separate from the background. Try experimenting with changing your focal lenght and see how it effects your photo's. FYI focal lenghts of 3.5-2.8 are especially flattering on portraits. Just my 2 cents.. you may already know all this and I'm merely kicking a dead horse, but since you asked for an advanced critique I thought I'd offer you mine. Much love and keep up the great work!

well yeah i understand the idea, the lens i used for this one can handle up to 3.5, don`t remember exactly how i shot it, need to look for the original file later on.

But besides the F# that you mention (the focal length is a different thing) the focal length i used was about 28mm, adding the crop factor of the xti it becomes like a 45mm. So that with that amount of focal length, achieving the DOF that you mention is kinda hard.

I think the perspective itself gives the car all the attention in the picture. Well that`s how i feel it.

Thanks for your comment :)

looks like a screen from Grand Turismo for PS3. How do you get your camera to do this? (i'll take a guess, something expensive?)
:icon6th-gear:
hehe

i`ve got an Xti. But the picture is an HDR (high dynamic range) in this case i used 3 pictures with different exposures (+2, 0, -2) it`s the same picture but changing the exposures and then work it in a software like photomatix or photoshop :)

awesome shot, agree it is a shame about the chock behind the front wheel, I cant really add much else as the watermarks are far too distracting! understand why you have done it, but its a little over the top, especially for advanced critique.
